Pathfinder. Behind Rowdee's Rebrand and New Direction

Starting Out

We (I) launched the brand in September 2023. It came after 18 months of research and development for a single product. Our bestselling Shindig Shirt. At that time, the entire brand was focused on the amateur athlete. All passion, no sponsors.

I was a weekend warrior who juggled various hobbies and outdoor adventures alongside working an office job. Hence, the “designed for amateurs” tagline and rock on emblem. Everything was about the good times on the trail and whatever came next. We almost exclusively focused on getting the product right and building a community that stood for something larger than another cool party shirt.

Finding our purpose

The rollercoaster of the last few years for small businesses almost killed us. In July of 2025, we were at a crossroads.

Path A: Cut our losses and shut it down.

Path B: Rebuild the entire thing from scratch.

The Shindig Shirt was loved and gaining traction. Our original logo was solid. But I had grown a lot as a founder over the past few years, and the brand hadn't grown with it. It was time for a full reset.

From July to December, we rebuilt the entire business. And I mean everything: the entire supply chain, new factory partners, new operational partners, and development of our newly released MLT Jersey. But most importantly, clarifying who we are and why we exist.

Before we could introduce a new visual identity, we needed a purpose, a mission, something on the horizon that would be unchanging for decades. I‘ll admit that hundreds of hours were deliberating the best way forward, but it all became crystal clear one afternoon watching my two-year-old son.

Our Mission

Serve and inspire the world by encouraging men to live a life of impact.

There is a lot to wax on about here, but in short... young men are falling behind. You don’t have to look far to see that in nearly every aspect they are becoming more isolated, less employable, and mental suffering. So many aspects of this problem are ready for evolution, and our mission will always be to encourage men to live a life of impact through our products, storytelling, events, and collaborations.

Our Vision

“To become the most impactful men’s apparel brand. Inspiring men to live a life of impact by developing unique product, experiences, and stories with men around the world.”

This is bigger than sport. Adventure and sport instill perseverance, discipline, grit, patience, focus, resilience and delayed gratification. Traits that lead toward a healthy and impactful life by any measure. Because of this, our roots will always remain in adventure and sport. Because we believe the world is a better place with men who hold the previously mentioned traits.

Use Your Days

Our tagline and everything we stand for in a phrase. It’s both universal and personal. It’s clear, definitive, and captures the essence of Rowdee perfectly.

Tell someone who’s never heard of our little brand before to “use your days” and they’ll immediately understand. That’s the power of words.

Creating our New Identity

Armed with our North Star, it was time to find a visual identity that aligned. We went to our friends at Nowhere & Friends Studio with a few hopes and dreams.

  1. An own able mark that will become easily recognizable, iconic, and will stand the test of time
  2. Blend heritage and vintage aesthetics with modern performance
  3. An intentionally small color palette centered around one key color that can become synonymous with the Rowdee brand
  4. Dynamic enough to inspire creativity and experimentation as we grow

Hours of tinkering, exploring different directions, and refining landed us on the brand you see today (and for many years to come).

Pathfinder

Let’s start with the obvious. The logo mark, which we’ve named “Pathfinder.” It is one part vintage, one part action, and 100% iconic. As soon as Nowhere showed the sketch, it was decided. Not only does it give a beefy vibe to the “R” but also it shows the winding path we all know to be true. Whether in sport or in life, the path is never straight. A mark that honors the unexpected will keep us hungry (and humble).

The Wordmark

The heavy, retro-feeling pathfinder is paired with a balanced and modern wordmark. Created by hand using custom typography, it’s truly one of a kind and done with intention.

Each letter was designed with equal weight and flexibility in mind. This lets certain letters stretch or compress, bringing the entire logo to life.

Seeing Color Copper

Our teams worked together to find the perfect ownable color. Something that will never get in the way of capsules or collections, but distinct enough that when you see it - you’ll know it’s Rowdee. After a few rounds and hours pored over Pantone swatches we landed on copper.

At first glance it may almost read orange, but there is a story there. Like a life of impact, copper has to go through a melting (smelting) process to reach its purest form before being forged. That moment is the inspiration behind Rowdee’s key color - copper. Additionally, we fell in love with lupine as a secondary color. A cool and unique tone for a men's brand that also shows up in the natural environments we play and the natural patina of refined copper.

Living Our Values (Into the Future)

Armed with our new mission, vision, and visual identity, Rowdee is ready to plant our flag in the market. For the last three years, we’ve been wandering through the wilderness, focused on creating great products out of our founder’s garage. It was a necessary step. It let us build the Rowdee you're seeing today and a brand we're proud to grow.

But it’s time. Time to push the gas and see what we can make happen. The mission is larger than any one company, and because of that most things are on the table. That includes raising capital for our growth, hiring key people to build an unstoppable team, and most importantly meeting men where sport, culture, and intentional living intersect.

Use your days.
